How many companies are part of the BSE Auto Index?

The BSE Auto Index comprises a minimum of 10 prominent companies from the automotive sector. There’s no upper limit, as long as the companies meet the criteria laid down by the BSE. At the moment, 17 companies are part of this index. These include major manufacturers such as Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, Tata Motors Ltd, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, Hero MotoCorp Ltd, and Bajaj Auto Ltd. The index is every six months to ensure it reflects the current market conditions and includes companies with substantial market capitalization and trading volumes, providing a balanced representation of the auto industry.
