How many companies are part of the BSE PSU Index?

The BSE PSU Index includes over 50 companies selected based on their market capitalisation, liquidity, and relevance to the public sector. The index is reviewed and rebalanced semi-annually to ensure it accurately represents the leading PSUs. Stock weights are determined by free-float market capitalisation, providing a balanced representation of the sector's performance. As one would expect, the largest companies with the highest weightage are Central Government backed enterprises such as State Bank Of India Ltd. (SBI), Ntpc Ltd., Power Grid Corporation Of India Ltd, Bharat Electronics Ltd. (BEL), and Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (ONGC)
