Aadhar Housing Finance IPO ends with decent subscription
The initial public offer (IPO) of Aadhar Housing Finance received 1,78,65,45,247 bids for shares as against 7,00,89,373 shares on offer. The issue was subscribed 25.49 times.
The Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs) category was subscribed 72.78 times. The Non Institutional Investors (NIIs) category was subscribed 16.50 times. The Retail Individual Investors (RIIs) category was subscribed 2.46 times.
The issue opened for bidding on 8 May 2024 and it will close on 10 May 2024. The price band of the IPO was fixed at Rs 300 to 315 per share.
The offer comprised fresh issue of equity shares worth up to Rs 1000 crore and an offer for sale of 6.35-6.67 crore equity shares aggregating up to Rs 2,000 crore.
The objectives of the fresh issue include augmenting the capital base to meet future capital requirements. The company expects to receive the benefits of listing the equity shares on the stock exchanges, including to enhance brand image among existing and potential customers and creation of a public market for equity shares in India.
Ahead of the IPO, Aadhar Housing Finance on 7 May 2024, raised Rs 897.89 crore from anchor investors. The board allotted 2.85 crore shares at Rs 315 each to 61 anchor investors.
Aadhar Housing Finance is a housing finance company (HFC) focused on the low-income housing segment with a ticket size of less than Rs 15 lakh. The average ticket size of loans was Rs 10 lakh, with an average loan-to-value of 58.3% end December 2023. The company has an extensive network of 487 branches, including 109 sales offices in 20 states and union territories end December 2023. The reach of the company extended to 10,926 pin codes across India end December 2023.
Aadhar offers a range of mortgage-related loan products, including loans for residential property purchase and construction, home improvement and extension loans, and loans for commercial property construction and acquisition.
The firm reported a net profit of Rs 547.88 crore and total income of Rs 1,895.17 crore for the nine months ended on 31 December 2023.

TBO Tek IPO ends with strong subscription
The initial public offer (IPO) of TBO Tek received 80,50,71,440 bids for shares as against 92,85,816 shares on offer. The issue was subscribed 86.70 times.
The Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs) category was subscribed 125.51 times. The Non Institutional Investors (NIIs) category was subscribed 50.60 times. The Retail Individual Investors (RIIs) category was subscribed 25.74 times.
The issue opened for bidding on 8 May 2024 and it closed on 10 May 2024. The price band of the IPO was fixed between Rs 875 to Rs 920 per share.
The offer comprised fresh issue of equity shares worth up to Rs 400 crore and an offer for sale of 1,25,08,797 equity shares. The promoter stake, at 51.26%, will dilute post-IPO to 46.8%.
Out of the proceeds from the fresh issue, Rs 135 crore will be used for investment in technology and data solutions, Rs 100 crore towards investment in material subsidiary, Tek Travels DMCC, for on-boarding platform users through marketing and promotional activities, Rs 25 crore towards building sales and marketing infrastructure, Rs 40 crore towards inorganic acquisitions, and the remaining for general corporate purpose.
Ahead of the IPO, TBO Tek on 7 May 2024, raised Rs 696.51 crore from anchor investors. The board allotted 75.70 lakh shares at Rs 920 each to 47 anchor investors.

An Initial Public Offering or IPO is a process through which a private company decides to "go public" by offering its shares to the general public in a bid to raise funds for its operations and expenses, among other things. It is a means for a company to raise capital from the public and become a publicly-traded company. The company must undergo stringent checks and a detailed process, monitored by the Securities and Exchange Board of India and underwriting banks, and provide proof of its financial health to qualify for public listing. It can go public only after it complies with the SEBI's requirements.
Yes, SEBI (Securities and Exchange Board of India) laws mandate each applicant to own a trading and Demat account while applying for an IPO.
Investing in an IPO gives you the opportunity to invest in a company or startup that is just getting listed. This early mover advantage allows you to buy shares at lower prices and sell them after listing on the market and pocket the gains.
When a company launches its IPO in share market, it divides the total shares it intends to offer to the public. In the case of IPO stocks, investors may not purchase any quantity of shares, unlike regular stock trading. They must instead purchase the shares in lots. The company fixes the maximum and minimum lot size before launching the IPO. This is known as market lot size or IPO bid lot. For instance, let's say the company sets a lot size of 10 shares for each lot. The minimum lot you can purchase is 1, and the maximum you can purchase is 10. This essentially means that if you buy 1 lot, the minimum number of shares you can get is 10, and you cannot buy more than 10 lots or 100 IPO shares. Thus, if you wish to buy 75 shares, you cannot do so. You must choose to buy 7 or 8 lots, i.e., 70 or 80 shares, whichever is the closest to the multiple of 10, which makes up 1 lot.
The minimum number of shares that an investor needs to apply for is referred to as the market lot size. Investors can bid for multiple lots (with a maximum cap decided by the company).
Book Building is defined as the process through which an underwriter - typically an investment bank, attempts to determine the IPO offering price. It is also known as the process of price discovery, which enables underwriters to understand the demand for shares of the company before arriving at an issue price. The underwriter essentially builds a book by inviting various institutional investors like fund managers and others to submit their bids for the number of shares they would be willing to purchase and share prices they would be willing to pay if they purchased the company's shares on a public platform. Book building is thus the de facto mechanism by which companies price their IPO in share market. All major stock exchanges worldwide recommend book building as the most efficient method to price securities.
Once the IPO is launched, the IPO registrar publishes and releases a document to the stock exchanges and interested investors comprising information about the IPO's final price, the bidding or demand information, and the share allotment or allocation ratio. This document is known as the Basis of Allotment, also referred to as the basis of allocation. As an investor, you must bear in mind that this document is categorised based on the categories of interested investors and the number of shares they have applied for. You can get the detailed information of the IPO, including the total number of applications received along with the allocation details, in this document. A crucial component of this document is the allotment ratio which provides insight on whether the IPO is oversubscribed, and if it is, by how many times. These details are critical because they allow you to assess the number of eligible applicants who will be allotted IPO shares from the actual number of applicants. For instance, if the allotment ratio is 1:8, it means that one applicant out of every eight will receive one lot of shares. If the allotment ratio is labelled as FIRM, all applicants will certainly receive some shares.
In case you do not get allotment, then the money blocked for the IPO in your bank account will be automatically unblocked.
The abbreviation DP in the investment market denotes a Depository Participant. There are two major depositories in India - the National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL) and the Central Depository Services Limited or the CDSL. Both depositories have their own network of depository participants that serve as a link between them and the securities issuing companies. Essentially, a DP is simply a financial institution such as a brokerage house (like Mirae Asset) or Bank registered with the SEBI. Anyone interested in investing in market securities, including IPOs, must open a Demat and trading account with a DP and specify the DP ID on the Initial Public Offering application form.
