Here, m.Stock journey starts with just a few simple steps. Let’s understand step by step how to open an m.Stock Demat account.
First, here are some important points to note before starting the process. During account opening, you will need to enter your PAN, Aadhaar and bank details. So, make sure to keep these ready. Please ensure that the customer’s name is the same on the Aadhaar, PAN and bank account.
Second, you will also need to take a selfie. So, make sure you have a suitable background while clicking the photo.
Third, nominee details will be required. For a major nominee, you will need PAN, Aadhaar or Driving Licence details, while for a minor, PAN or Aadhaar details will be required.
Let’s now look at how to open an m.Stock Demat account.
Download and install the m.Stock app, or go to the m.Stock app and click on Open an Account. In the next step, enter your 10-digit Aadhaar-linked mobile number — that is, the number registered with your Aadhaar. Then verify the number through the OTP.
Now enter your email ID and verify it by entering the OTP received on your email. In the next step, enter your PAN. If your PAN is not linked with Aadhaar, make sure to link both before starting the process. After entering your PAN, your date of birth and client name will be fetched automatically and sent to NSDL for verification.
Now it’s time to upload your selfie.
Give the m.Stock app access to your location, camera and microphone. Click on Capture and take a clear selfie. After taking the selfie, you will need to sign on the screen. Alternatively, you can upload a scanned copy of your physical signature.
Next, enter your bank details. Your bank account will be verified through the penny drop or reverse penny drop process. m.Stock will verify these details, and once the verification is successful, your bank account will be linked. Then fill in the remaining details, such as gender, marital status, father’s or spouse’s name, income details and so on.
You will now see some declarations on the screen. Once you complete these declarations, you can add nominees. You can add a maximum of three nominees. After this, you will get the option to activate the F&O segment.
You can activate your F&O segment automatically or manually. Please note that for this, your bank account should be at least 6 months old.
Next, enter your address. If you have previously completed KYC for a Demat account with another broker or for a mutual fund investment, your available details will be fetched automatically.
If your KYC details are not available, you will be redirected to DigiLocker. Log in using your Aadhaar-linked mobile number, verify the OTP and give consent to fetch your details. If the details are not fetched automatically, you can enter them manually and continue with the process.
Now it’s time for eSign. Click here to be redirected to the eSign process. Enter your Aadhaar number here. Then enter the OTP received on your Aadhaar-linked mobile number to complete the process. And that’s it. Your account opening process is complete. Your account application will be verified within 1–2 days, and you will receive an update through email or SMS.
If there are no issues with the application, your m.Stock account will be activated within 2–3 days. Meanwhile, you can set your password on the m.Stock app or website. Log in and explore the platform.
