How to Link Aadhaar Card with EPF-UAN Account

The Universal Account Number (UAN) serves as a unique identifier for EPF (Employee Provident Fund) members, simplifying the management of multiple PF accounts. Aadhaar card linking with UAN is a crucial step as it ensures seamless access to EPF services, reduces paperwork, and enhances data accuracy. By linking one’s Aadhaar with UAN, EPF members can easily verify their identity, initiate withdrawals, and access services online. The process of linking Aadhaar with UAN can be done through various platforms.

UAN Aadhaar Link Online Process 

  1. How to link UAN with Aadhaar online through the EPFO website? 

You can link your Aadhaar and EPF/UAN account by following these steps:

1. Visit the [EPFO Member e-SEWA Portal] (https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/).

2. Log in using your UAN and password.

3. Under the 'Manage' tab, select the 'KYC' option.

4. On the 'Add KYC' tab, enter your Aadhaar and PAN numbers and submit.

5. The details will appear under the 'Pending KYC' tab, and once approved, it will be available  under the 'Approved KYC' tab.

  1. How to Link Aadhar to EPFO through the UMANG App? 

To link your EPF through the Umang App, follow these steps:

Step 1. Log in to the Umang App using MPIN or OTP. (Get the UMANG app from the Google Play Store or the Apple’s App Store.)

Step 2. Once you have logged in, in the 'All Services' tab, select 'EPFO.'

Step 3. Choose 'Aadhaar Seeding' under 'eKYC services.'

Step 4. Enter your UAN and click on 'Get OTP' to receive a One-Time Password on your registered mobile.

Step 5. Enter your Aadhaar details.

Step 6. An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile and email. Enter the OTP to link your Aadhaar with UAN.

Once approved, Aadhaar details will appear in the 'Approved KYC' tab.

3. How to link EPF with Aadhaar Online through EPFO e-KYC Portal?

To link your Aadhaar to your EPF UAN via OTP verification on the EPFO e-KYC Portal, follow these steps:

  1. Visit the EPF India official website.
  2. Under ‘EPFO Members’, select ‘Link with Aadhaar’.
  3. Enter your UAN and registered mobile number to generate an OTP.
  4. Input the OTP and click ‘Confirm OTP’.
  5. Select your gender and enter your Aadhaar number.
  6. Choose ‘Using Mobile/Email-based OTP’ for verification.
  7. Enter the OTP sent to your mobile and email.
  8. Complete the Captcha and click ‘Submit’.

After verification, your Aadhaar will be linked to your UAN.

UAN-Aadhaar Linking Offline Process

EPFO has introduced many options for linking Aadhaar with UAN, making the process accessible even for individuals with limited computer skills or who aren’t comfortable with the online process. You can also link Aadhaar to your EPF account offline by visiting the nearest EPFO office. Follow these steps:

1. Fill out the form with your name, Aadhaar number, and UAN.

2. Complete the other required details.

3. Submit the form along with copies of your PAN card, UAN, and Aadhaar.

Once verified, your Aadhaar will be linked to your UAN, and you will receive a confirmation message on your registered mobile.

How to Link Aadhaar to UAN through Biometric Credentials? 

You can link your Aadhaar to your EPF account using biometric credentials on EPFO’s e-KYC Portal with the following steps:

Step 1- Visit the EPF India official website.

Step 2- Under ‘EPFO Members’, select ‘Link UAN Aadhaar’.

Step 3- Enter your UAN and registered phone number to generate an OTP.

Step 4- Enter the OTP in the ‘Confirm OTP’ box.

Step 5- Select your gender and input your Aadhaar number.

Step 6- Choose ‘Using Biometrics’ for Aadhaar verification.

Step 7- Provide your biometrics via a registered device.

Step 8- Enter the Captcha and click ‘Submit’.

After verification, your Aadhaar will be linked to your UAN.

How to Check Aadhaar EPF Link Status Online?

To check if your Aadhaar is linked to your EPF account, follow these steps:

1. Visit the UAN portal and log in using your UAN and password.

2. On the Member homepage, find your Aadhaar information.

3. Look for the status next to your Aadhaar Number—if it shows ‘Validated (DEMOGRAPHIC)’, your Aadhaar is successfully linked and verified by UIDAI.
